How we stabilized the eXtra.cz platform for millions of readers

eXtra.cz is one of the most visited websites in the Czech Republic – and we provide the technical backbone behind it.

Our collaboration with BurdaMedia Extra began with taking over the editorial system and client websites, including eXtra.cz. Our initial goal was to improve the stability and performance of a system delivering content to millions of users daily.

Within the first year, we stabilized the platform, moved heavy operations into the background, and introduced key software processes. We also developed a custom video platform, VidEOM, which now handles over a million video plays daily. These improvements streamlined both operations and editorial workflows.

Today, we’re responsible for the platform’s ongoing development, including further site migrations and performance optimizations. BurdaMedia Extra’s websites now rank among the fastest and most stable, with eXtra.cz reaching 4th place in the NetMonitor chart.
